Ramayana the epic as all know is first written by Maharishi Valmiki . The sage on his way to perform his morning paryers on the banks of river Tamsa meets Devarishi Narada who travels whole world singing the praises of the Paramatma Sriman Narayana. Sage Valmiki had doughts relating to ceratin topics about the qualities possed by a man , he puts forward these doughts to Narada who is a Yogi of the supreme order. Narada tells Valmiki to think about Sri Rama who was complete emobodiement of all supreme qualities that can be held by a man. This way Sage Valmiki comes to know about the Life of Rama.

Valmiki on listening about Rama from Maharishi Narada begans to write the lifestory of Sri Ramachandra. The story of Ramayana written by Rishi Valmiki has "SEVEN VOLUMES , FIVE HUNDRED CHAPTERS" and "Twenty four Thousand Verse or Shlokas" telling the story and praises of Sri Ramachandra. Sage Valmiki after writing the epic now wants worthy individuals who can learn the epic and sing it to the public. The epic of Ramayana written by Valmiki is so melodious to the ears,touches the heart and teaches how to be ideal indidviduals in the society. Valmiki in his search of students who could sing the Ramayana finds Lava and Kusha as worthy of learning and spreading the story of Ramayana. Sita devi had been banished from Ayodhya by Rama and was now living in the hermitage of Valmiki. Who better to sing the Ramayana but the sons of the noble Rama. Thus, Ramayana was taught to Lava and Kusha by Sage Valmiki.

Lava and Kusha kumaras were really talented individuals and had good memory with melodious voice. They learnt the Ramayan from Sage Valmiki. Lava and Kusha started roaming and singing Ramayana in gathering of sages , among common people and started spreading the story of Rama. The sages used to feel blessed to listen to Lava and Kushas narration of Ramayana and used to bless them with boons. This way Lava and Kusha used to travel around and tell the story of Rama.

This way traveling the streets of Ayodhya singing the Ramayana Lava and Kusha is noticed by Rama and seeing them sing the verses so meldiously ask them to come to his court and sing it infront of all his subjects. Lava and kusha starts reciting the Ramayan infront of Rama and thus the story begins.

One thing is to be really appreciated the Ramayana which is almost eleven thousand years old was till recent times passed on from generations through oral recitation has survived so many years and is still being preserved. A epic of such volume being remebered by our ancestors and have made it available to us today is a really a remarkable job . The passing on of the story begins from Lava and Kusha in presence and witness of Lord Rama himself and till today we have the verses written by Valmiki. The story of Ramayan has so many versions and variations and still tells the world about the nectar like story of Lord Rama.

Ramayana Sage Rishyashringa's birth

 Ramayana ರಾಮಾಯಣ  Welcome to Rama Katha Amrita In the previous post I told about sage Rishyashringa now lets know about his birth .  Urvashi saw Sage Vibhandaka their eyes met each other . They both got married . Years passed Urvashi remembered her work . She thought how many years have passed since I cam here but now she couldn't return back  to Indraloka(heaven). She had a baby in her wo womb . What can she do with the child . That time in the pond our mind got attracted and we got married . She thought '' Still now which Apsara has taken care of her child . To disturb Sage Kaushika (know as Vishwamitra) severe Tapas Menaka  came . Even she left her child safely in the hands of Sage Kanva Rishi the daughter child was know as Shakuntala . the Apsara went back to heaven .
